I always enjoy reading day-in-the-life posts because I am fascinated at how such differing schedules work for people. My schedule feels so ordinary and mundane yet I realize that some someone just beginning to navigate their self-employed, work-from-home life, it may be difficult to find a routine. Here is what an average work day looks for me.
5:00AM Wake Up, take the dogs out and get dressed so that I can get a little exercise in before my busy day begins.
5:15AM Work Out: Since the weather has been warmer I have been walking or bike riding
6:00 AM Quiet Time: I don’t take enough time but I read my Bible and pray
6:45 AM Breakfast with B – B usually is in charge of making breakfast. We like to make something like scrambled eggs or make our own yogurt parfaits with granola and real fruit.
7:00AM: Feed the Boys and sit down to computer to check emails from over night.
7:30 AM: Get a shower and get ready for the day
8:15AM: Call Parents
8:30 AM: Respond to emails and make my to-do list for the day, update our task management program for my staff and for myself.
9:00AM: Open shop and work on any quick projects that will take less than 20 minutes, this also includes photographing anything new for the website or etsy.
10:00AM: I’m ready to start working on any details clients projects or this is when I’d have meetings
Noon: Check emails and Etsy convos
12:30: Lunch – surf the web (my lunch never looks that pretty)
1:00: Back to more detailed work or meetings
3:00: Check emails, edit photos from earlier
3:30: Jen is gone for the day. List new shop items / update website
4:00: Work on Blog – tasks are already updated in Asana
4:30: Final Email check for the day, clean up, make sure Asana is updated
5:00: Close Shop and take a little time to unwind
5:30: Cook Dinner (we’ve been trying Hello Fresh for the past several weeks)
6:00: Have Dinner with B
6:30: Clean up dinner, laundry, house cleaning (focus on 1 or two rooms a night)
8:30: TV time with B – Catch up on recorded tv shows, etc.
9:30: My time for reading, watching my shows, etc.
10:30: Bed Time
