In doing my blog planning for the next couple of weeks I stumbled upon this cake and had to completely move things around so I could share it now. While this cake would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding, I’m really loving the idea of shades of berry and copper for a winter wedding!
I used the cake as my inspiration for everything else. I’m kind of in love!
The cake reminds me of a new note card design we debuted in the shop just before Christmas. It’s one of my favorites right now so I took that note card design and turned it into a wedding invitation suite that I think is perfect for our berry and copper wedding.
Meet “Amber” our latest studio invitation suite. Watercolor paintings of flowers, leaves and other fun stuff make up the design with a mix of classic and rustic fonts all wrapped up with a gold metallic ribbon.
For the bridesmaids, I debated on the color. Too dark and it isn’t “berry”, too light and it might look too summery. I decided I liked the idea of varying shades of berry from pink to plum and I especially like these convertible dresses because while they are the same dress, the bridesmaids can wear them how they want to fit their own personal styles.
I do also really love the darker hues of the dresses below.
For the decor, I’d keep it simple and elegant. I love these DIY painted vases and how they add warmth and a little glam to the otherwise very simple table.
For the guys, I really like the idea of a charcoal tux or suit over black. Charcoal doesn’t feel so harsh against the warmer tones. Depending on the formality of your wedding, I found a few options for the guys that I think would work.
For the more formal affair, I really like the champagne color tie. It’s neutral and clean and just feels very clean and fresh to me no matter what your color palette.
For the less formal wedding, I love this striped tie and metallic boutonniere. This tie isn’t for everyone but I love that it really adds personality to the look. (BTW, this is my favorite look!)
Finally, just like the ladies, the look below could be matched to any of the berry colors. I also really love the subtle pattern on the shirt in this look.
