I love the quote “Blushing Bride”. I’ve often wondered where that expression came from, so I did a little research. It is said that the bride “blushes” many time on her wedding day. From walking down the isle, saying her vows, receiving vows from her beloved, during the reception and long after the wedding has ended and the honeymoon has begun.
With that being said, it’s becoming more and more common that the bride is actually wearing blush, instead of just blushing! Brides are now wearing blush colored wedding gowns instead of an ivory or white gown. And personally, I love the idea of the bride wearing color. Simple bouquet, gorgeous heels and a little sparkly jewelry, and you just might be setting a new fashion trend in your own neighborhood!
I’ve made it easy too…here are all of the links to these gorgeous gowns!
Check out these Heels! and this gown, David Tutera Wedding Gown: Lourdes, and this gown, David Tutera Wedding Gown: Blakesly , and this gorgeous organza one, Essence of Australia: Orangza & Georgeous; and another, Stella York: Vintage Lace and 2 of my favorites: MXM Couture: Blush & Essence of Australia: Lace on Tulle.
You can pair all of these colors with a new wedding invitation that Bethann has come up with for a soon-to-be-bride, Tiffany! Simple colors, wording and a touch of burlap string makes for a great combination. Of course, this invitation would be customized for you!
So if the bride is wearing color, what do you put your bridesmaids in? I think that it would be beautiful to see a bride in a blush gown, and her bridesmaids in ivory, mint, primrose and/or grey. Such a beautiful & neutral palette of colors that blend so well together.
Here are a few of my favorite bridesmaids dresses as well…
Can you see how beautiful all of these colors blend so well together?
Flowers can be everything & anything. Guys can wear black, grey or even blue! Whatever you decide is perfect for your wedding!
I hope that you’ve enjoyed my thoughts about this. Maybe you’ll agree…maybe not. Either way, I’m okay with that.
