Today’s project is this lovely book page rose ornament. I was inspired by something I found on Pinterest but chose to put my own spin on it. This entire project takes 20 – 30 minutes to complete. My finished rose is about 10″ wide.
You will need:
- Old book with pages torn out
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- circle template
Trace approx. a 4″ diameter circle onto your cardstock and cut it out. This will be the base of your rose where you mount all your petals.
Cut a piece of ribbon to your desired length and hot glue it to your cardboard / cardstock circle. I chose to fold my ribbon i half so i could tie the ends into a bow. Using hot glue, attach the ribbon to the cardboard circle.
Tear out several pages from your book and cut petal shapes out in a variety of sizes. I use about three sizes. You will need only about 5 small petals and the rest medium and large.
Tightly curl the smallest size petals to make the center of your rose.
With the medium and large petals, curl the edges and fold in the center. Leave some unfolded for a more natural look.
Begin gluing your smallest petals into the center of your circle. It may look best to open some of the petals more than others to look more natural.
Continue adding the medium petals around the smaller petals and fill in as needed. There is no right or wrong, it’s only about what looks best to you.
Add the largest petals to the outside until your cardstock circle is full.
tie your ribbon into a bow
