So, you could say that we here at Raspberry Creative have been inspired to do a little cooking of our own. We’ve come up with this delicious display of ways to use Merlot with some other colors and we’ll be posted a new one each week. Maybe one of them will inspire you!
First on the list is Merlot & Plum. Beautiful! Or as most Italian’s would say, bello! The colors look so wonderful together, and even when used as an ombre, can create such drama (the good kind). The richness of the dark reds, mixed with the deep purples, are stunning.
Since I started this blog about food, let’s skip everything else and go right to the reception!
I would envision round tables with centerpieces made from mixed hues of merlot, plum & cranberry, and alternate plum and merlot picture frames on the tables with the table numbers.Vintage vases would be a great accent to the rich colors of the flowers. I love the lace over-lay table cloth in this photo. I think that if you’d get some really dark plum/purple napkins, and some personalized wedding menus, it would really set the tone.
Ideally, you could use these colors any time of the year, and with whatever venue you have in mind.
FORGET the cookie bar… do a dessert bar instead! Have lots of different colors of deep red, plum, garnet, amethyst, etc…for candy & decorations. Add a little banner across the table or to hang above: Love is Sweet or Have a Sweet Night! I love both of these ideas. Leave some goodie bags on the table, and your guests can enjoy a little something while they are there, or before they leave. Place more picture frames with cute pictures of you & the groom, and you’ve completely personalized it!
And if you’re planning on having some wine served at your reception, might I suggest this 8×10 sign to have on the bar: (stop by our Etsy Shop!)
But, before you say “I Do”, you’ll need some stationary to get you started. Here at Raspberry Creative, Bethann has designed these beautiful invitations, RSVP cards and detail cards. There is also coordinating Save the Date, Bridal Shower, and Thank you notes.
All of the items that are made in our shop, and will soon be available on our Etsy shop!!!
I wouldn’t be completely doing my job if I didn’t say something about attire too! I love the idea of different colored dresses for your bridal party. I think that if you are going to go to the lengths of combining these magnificent colors, show them off. Just look at how well ALL of these colors blend.
And if you’re daring enough to wear some colored shoes, check out these that I found! GORGEOUS!
So, whatever you plan on cooking up, whether it’s in the kitchen or at your wedding; we hope that we’ve given you some good tips to get you started!
