Polka Dots are one of those classic patterns that seem to work no matter what. They also NEVER never go out of style. Lately I have been a bit obsessed with polka dots pretty much across the board. Seriously. From designs I’m creating here in the shop, to fashion and even home decor; I just can’t seem to get enough!
It all started with a recent small business client. She’s an accountant but she was looking for an update to her company identity that was professional but feminine. She even suggested going a little fun. The whole idea of leopard print came up but we ended up going with a simple polka dot pattern to accent her modern logo. It kind of set off a storm in me.
Not wanting to copy the same polka dot pattern for my own company, I recently did a bit of an identity refresh for Raspberry Creative and it included polka dots too. Instead of the perfectly round uniform pattern we went with for Amanda, I decided on a more imperfect, almost hand painted style that was more of a scattered pattern. Fun, right?
As I have been looking at some fall wardrobe updates, I see lots of great colors and styles but what catches my eye most of all? A polka dot shirt! It’s navy (one of my favorite colors to wear) and it’s polka dots! What more could I ask for?
I’m also really loving the top below from Banana Republic which reminds me a bit of the pattern we used on our new business cards. It’s kind of a polka dot / animal print combo.
Then when I was recently searching pinterest for some office inspiration to help me style my teal wall, I found this Kate Space office set up. How do I get that desk in my life I’d like to know.
