It’s hard to believe 2016 is coming to a close. I feel like it flew by. As the new year gets closer and closer, I find that I’m looking forward to leaving this year behind. 2016 was not one of my better years, but I feel like the challenges I faced have set me up for something even better.
I set a lot of goals for Raspberry Creative in 2016. Social Media growth and the blog were two of the biggest goals. Growing our eCommerce shop, simplifying our processes, and improving our client experience were some of the other big goals. Looking back over the year, I’d say I’m pretty pleased with where we stand with those goals.
While I don’t have things figured out 100%, the blog has become part of my weekly routine and posts have been much more consistent. After the Wedding MBA in Las Vegas, social media seemed to get easier. I felt like I was able to focus on what’s most important and our following grows every day.
shopraspberrycreative.com hasn’t been a huge part of our business but it has grown over the past year. If we lump our Etsy Shop in to our online sales, I’d say the results have far exceeded even my wildest imagination of what it could be. Well over 50% of our total company sales came from Etsy this year!
For our clients, we have spent a lot of time working on ways to make their experience better from start to finish. From making our processes here in the studio easier and more foolproof to providing our clients with many helpful resources. One of the biggest achievements for our clients was the addition of our new Wedding Welcome Packet. It’s still a work in progress but our brides seem to really love it! In the shop, we upgraded our furniture and continue to plan ways to make it look and feel even better for our in-person meetings.
Of course things didn’t always go as hoped this year. While I don’t want to dwell on any of the bad stuff, I do feel it’s important to acknowledge that it wasn’t always perfect. That’s just the way life is. The goal is finding ways to keep going and moving forward despite the challenges.
So 2016, I’m so thankful to have lived another year, to see my business continue grow, to spend time with family and friends but I’m ready to put you behind me and begin looking ahead to the new year.
