Gunpowder & Lace: Blending and Bonding
You’ve got the man, the ring…and now you need engagement photos and to set the date! This should be easy, right?
Photos…
I’m envisioning a gorgeous charcoal gray suede couch in front of a pale fireplace with blush-pink decorations, and a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Add a rich, darker throw blanket and you’re set for some beautiful photos. After that, head outside to a place where he feels comfortable and let things flow naturally. Take a few signs with you “He Took a Shot” / “She Said Yes”, or “The Hunt Is Over” / “June 6, 2015” Either way, be yourselves. Dress in what makes you feel beautiful, and uniquely you! After all, isn’t that what made you fall in love with each other?
Set a Date!
This is where the blending and bonding really comes in. Whatever date you both decide on, just remember it’s about being married at the end of the day. This “season” that you are in right now might seem hard and trying, but really; you and your fiancé are creating common core strengths that you will be able to use through your entire lives together. You’re learning to compromise.
Choosing a date can be tricky. You can’t really choose any time in the fall (Hunting Season!) which pretty much eliminates ½ of August, all of September, October, November and December. And if he is into hunting with a flintlock mussel-loader that will eliminate the first ½ of January…and then spring gobbler starts in May.
And you had always dreamed of having that romantic fall wedding. It’s okay.
Late spring is also a great time to get married. It’s warmer in the evenings, and the stars are so pretty…and with the soft, shimmery colors that you have dreamed of, it will all look beautiful in the moonlight.
It’s settled…the 1st weekend of June!
Blending your styles might seem overwhelming, but it won’t be. We’ve got lots of unique and wonderful ideas for you! Let’s start with a save-the-date postcard that will leave your guests intrigued to see how these two completely different styles can be intertwined. They’ll be sending in their RSVP right away, because they won’t want to miss this! (I want to attend as well!)
So here is a little shot to get things going!
