Gunpowder & Lace: Grunt with Grace
10 months to go…time to get things done!!!
We’re going to leave all of the guessing out of the invitations. In an effort to help you with the design of your girlie wedding with your man, we thought that we could incorporate metallic paper, pretty lace, and deep charcoal fonts; all found inside a cream colored linen envelope. Of course, we’d add a little “extra” to this invitation with a riffle. You could always switch it up and use a blush-pink envelope to really push the girlie side of it. (see photo at bottom) There would be matching response cards, detail cards & envelopes.
All eyes are going to be on you on the big day. You’ll be shining like the night sky, and your soon-to-be husband will be holding back tears when he sees you walk down the aisle. Let’s start with you, the beautiful bride! How about an off-white lace, trumpet style gown? Simple & Stunning. Maggie Sottero has some beautiful gowns!
Your bridesmaids could wear long blush-pink gowns (probably strapless) with a nude shoe. If you have a little flower girl, probably a off-white dress for her with a pretty blush-pink sash to tie it all together.
For the guys…a dark charcoal gray 2 button suit with a vest. I would suggest an off-white shirt with a neutral or blush-pink tie. If you would wish you for groom to look different, adjust the vest color & tie.
If you haven’t heard of a flower called Anemone, I would suggest that you take a few moments to look at them on the internet. They come in a variety of colors, but a soft cream with a deep center would be a great way to start your bouquet. Soft pink or cream roses; or light pink dahlias would look very great with anemones. Keep it very light and lovely. Wrap the stems with a soft lace to compliment your dress and you’re set. Your girls can have similar, smaller bouquets.
The groomsman can wear roses on their lapels, and your groom could wear an anemone. If you really want to be daring, have your florist put the grooms & groomsmen‘s flowers in a black shotgun casing. There are tons of ideas for this on pinterest.
Let’s Eat Cake
If you haven’t gone wedding cake shopping yet, may I suggest a simple and elegant cake? A lovely 3-tier cake, off-white colored frosting, neutral sugar flowers, and some edible lace…perfect! Here is a little idea for you: http://www.modwedding.com/2014/01/18/26-elaborate-wedding-cakes-with-exquisite-sugar-flower-details/
You can always do a special grooms cake for him.
