Gunpowder & Lace…Hunting Season is over.
It’s finally here. The last issue.
It’s been fun for me to think about how to mix these 2 personalities, and to imagine what the actual wedding will look like. To think about something, and then to actually see it happen can sometimes be two different things.
In this last issue, I just want to encourage you with some other ideas with last minute things; gifts; favors; etc…
Table, Bar & Door Ideas
If you are planning on doing a seating chart, you’ll need to have all of the names in one spot. It’s convenient so that when your guests arrive, they will easily be able to find their name & table number.

I would definitely keep the table decorations very “girlie”. Lots of pinks and flowers…very romantic! It will go well with the masculine entrance table.
And you may want to give your guests a door tag to hang on their hotel room! Let them check whichever box most suits how their evening went! Just so happens that we make these here, so we’d happy to personalize them for you!
I love the idea of giving candles for wedding gifts. You can easily change a label on a candle to your monogram, and it is something that can be a unique scent that means something to you. If the candle can be in a metal tin, and tied with a simple piece of lace, and I think that it will be a great compromise for both of you. (We make these here!)
It’s customary to present the wedding party with a Thank You gift for being a part of your wedding. For the bridesmaids, I’m thinking a pretty bracelet…something that you would totally wear, but you can envision your friends wearing too.
For the little ones, necklaces are always nice…but throw in a couple bottles of nail polish or a gift card for them to by themselves a pair of earrings. Little girls love this!
For the groomsman, I’m sure that they are probably all into hunting like your groom is. Why not get them a really nice pocket with their names engraved on it? I’m sure that there are places out there that can make them out of deer antlers.
It’s also customary for the bride and groom to buy each other a little gift on the wedding day and to have it presented to him/her before the wedding. I think that it would be lovely for the bride to receive a pearl necklace from her groom. Pearls represent “precious things / finest”. Include a little note to your soon-to-be wife as to why you are giving her pearls…she’ll be in tears before she even makes it to the isle.
And for the groom…all men need a pair of cuff-links. Why not provide him with a pair as a wedding gift? Get him a pair made from shotgun tops. (These were found on Etsy)
Include a note as to why you have chosen to get him this gift and what he means to you! He’ll be all the more anxious to kiss you after the I Do!
Leaving with a Bang!
Most couples choose to have bubbles to blow after the wedding…for you, that’s not going to cut it. As a great surprise to your groom, have your guests throw Pop-Its or use Pop-Guns! It’s a great way to bring your new marriage in with a bang…but it will be much quieter than a 12 gauge!

A few closing thoughts… Have Fun! It’s your day. Don’t worry if everyone is having fun, or not… They will be. They are just thankful to be a part of your day. Enjoy every minute, and take lots of photos! The day will go SO fast, that you will forget lots of things that happened.
