All Hallow’s Eve is now only 3 days away. My little one, Kate, is busy deciding which houses she wants to go to for treats and which ones for tricks. Thankfully, some offer both!
Yesterday’s snack in school went over GREAT! Each kiddo ate 2, yes I repeat 2, pumpkin cookies! Even the ones that don’t like pumpkin. Kate says that it’s because of the my secret ingredient that makes them SO delicious. (She got brownie points for that!)
That brings me to today’s snack for Mrs. Ender’s 3rd grade classroom – OFF WITH HIS HEAD! The children have been busy guessing what the snack might be with a name like that. Some think that it’s rice-krispie treats shaped like heads, or eating apples. I’m just exciting that they are excited & curious.
This is a really healthy & easy snack to make! Plus, you get to use markers. 🙂
Here’s what you’ll need:
- String Cheese Sticks
- Sharpie Markers
Get out your cheese sticks (I used white ones), but DO NOT unwrap them.
Get your container of Sharpie Markers
I used Black, Orange, Purple & Green for Halloween colors. But you could use whatever colors you want. I didn’t have an metallic colors, but if you do; that would look great!
Finally, the creativity…think of any “Halloween” things and draw them on the cheese sticks. You might just want to write words if you aren’t a good drawer (like me)!!!
This is what our sticks ended up looking like:
Kate made the Frankenstein one for her teacher.
I think that this would make a great and healthy snack for all your trick-or-treaters that you will be getting this year.
So, when the kids in school see “Off With His Head” they’ll see that it’s just taking a bite out of Halloween!
Until tomorrow when we’ll be Walkin’ into Webs together…
