I really enjoy Halloween. Not the scary side of it, but the fun side. The bobbing for apples, trying to eat a donut off a string, decorating my house and seeing what children (and adults) dress up for, for Trick or Treating!
My little ghoul has volunteered me to me the snack mom for her class this week…Ah, how sweet!!!!
Except for the fact that she volunteered me to take in a snack EVERYDAY this week. Lucky me. (Yes, there is a little sarcasm in that).
So, together; Kate and I, came up with a list of fun Halloween Treats for her friends in school. We made up a cute little “menu” as well so that her friends & teacher would be able to see what treats might be coming their way. Of course, nothing is spelled out what it is going to be, so it’s still exciting for Kate’s classmates to guess.
I’ll be posting the menu a little later!
Monday’s snack “Do Not Open The Vault” was not only fun & easy to make but had a little “healthiness” in it.
- Cookie Sheet
- Aluminum Foil
- Pudding Cups (Chocolate & # needed)
- 10 Oreo Cookies (smashed)
- Marshmallow Peeps (Ghosts or Tombstones)
- Candy Pumpkins
Line your cookie sheet with foil (containing the mess!). Open your pudding cups and arrange on your tray. Add your “peeps” to a corner of each pudding cup. Top each pudding cup with a little fresh dirt (oreos). Finish it with a pumpkin next to the peep and then sprinkle remaining pumpkins around the bottom of the cups.
Aren’t these super cute when finished?
Tuesday’s snack is “Pumpkin Patch”. I made my delicious pumpkin cookies (secret family recipe!) and topped them with a homemade brown sugar glaze. Oh My Goodness, Good! I’m anxious to hear what Kate’s classmates think of them. Last year, they were a big hit!
Check back tomorrow’s snack “Off With His Head”.
