If you follow Raspberry Creative on Social Media (Facebook or Instagram) you may have noticed some hints lately about some changes that are happening in the shop. The walls have been painted, I’ve updated some furniture and some additional renovations are in progress. I’m still in the same tiny shop but it’s taking on an updated look and I’ll be moving to the outside of the shop in the spring with some even more updates!
For most of this year I have remained mostly quiet. I’ve worked on some new blog content, shared some behind-the-scenes shots on social media but for the most part, I’ve stepped back, taken some time for myself both mentally and professionally. I did a lot of soul searching, evaluating and took some classes to improve myself professionally. Then I took some time off for a much needed vacation and some training at the Wedding MBA in late September and early October. After the time off and the time away, things suddenly began to fall into place.
I know, the last couple of years around here have been a bit scattered. Between growing pains, growing up and trying new things, I’ve realized that I also got away from who I am and what my vision has always been for my business. Raspberry Creative was “born” out of me, was my hopes and dreams and creativity all rolled up into this small company and I want to get back to that.
Over the past couple of years, changes have been made to the shop. I added the large counter, upgraded furniture and even changed up the logo a bit more than once. I ventured into the world of e-commerce and blogging and invested in my Etsy shop. I even began to try adding in more services.
All these things brought about changes to the logo to better fit where things were headed but nothing ever felt just right. In the world of branding, there’s nothing wrong with improving your physical location but the constant logo changes begin to get confusing. Whether people (customers or potential customers) realize it or not, it sends a message of instability. If I don’t know who I am or what my business is about, how can I possibly know who I’m trying to reach?
While on the surface, one would surmise that as a wedding stationery company I’d be trying to reach couples getting married that need save the dates, wedding invitations, etc. Sure, that’s true but I’m not really trying to reach every couple getting married. Over the past months I’ve been digging deeper, narrowing down those couples into the exact ones that I feel I can best serve and serve well.
What I discovered was that it was time to wipe the slate clean. I began to realize it was time for some major changes in appearance not just inside the shop but the entire business.
Today I’m excited to announce that Raspberry Creative will be launching a brand new look in January 2018! While it’s still the same heart and soul behind the business, the look (I feel) much better reflects my vision, what the business is and where it’s going. To all those that have stuck by me over the years, this change is a good one and one I’ve been developing for a while now. It’s one that I know will stick! It’s an investment I am making in the FUTURE of my business and how I present myself to my customers.
While I wont be officially sharing details of this new look until the New Year, starting in December, you may begin to see some of these changes beginning here with the website. (The imagery here may also be a clue.) I’ve been working away behind the scenes and have been wanting to share the news with you for a while so now that November is here and I’m ready to begin mapping out the transition, I feel like it’s time to share!
