Q: We are planning a destination wedding for next year and while it isn’t super far away, we don’t expect everyone we invite to attend. We have already chosen our wedding party and our parents are working closely with us on all the wedding planning and details. Obviously our wedding party and close family already know all the wedding details so do we still need to send them an invitation?
A: My simple answer is yes, you should still send your parents and wedding party an invitation. While they all may already know all the details these are the people most involved in your day and chances are they will want an invitation to have as a keepsake to remember your special day and the part they played in it. It isn’t required but it is a nice gesture. I have even heard of brides sending themselves a copy of the invitation so they have an invitation that was stamped and addressed for their scrapbook.
