Jen and I have been staying pretty busy in the shop working on a variety of projects from Save the Dates, Baby Shower invitations (see the pretty ones below) and of course, Wedding invitation packages.
In addition to all of our awesome stationery clients, I have had the pleasure over the last couple of months to work with a mother-daughter duo Lisa and JoAnn who have started a seriously cool event rental business. Inspired by her own wedding, Lisa enlisted the help of her mother and together they are creating something really special.
Not only have I been working with them on creating their company identity, I have also been loving being an unofficial business coach. I never realized until working with them, all that I have learned and know about starting and running a small business. Even though I usually feel like I know nothing, being able to offer advice and suggestions based on my own experiences has been one of the things I have enjoyed most about my job so far this year. I would really love to see myself doing more of this type of thing in the future.
With their logo complete, Brad (my husband and our pressman) and I worked on printing their beautiful business cards over the weekend. Seeing these beauties done makes me want to redesign our shop cards…again! I absolutely love the “blind” printing (impression with no ink) under the logo. It adds texture and interest and makes an already pretty design, even more memorable.
In relation to a post from earlier this week, Jen and I are really trying to get the blog back in action. Even though blogging has changed a lot, we still want the space to be one that people enjoy visiting. We’d love to find out what you want to see more of too.
Not only have we been wrapping up projects, we have also been getting ready for production on others. Jen’s least favorite job of cutting burlap hasn’t stopped her smile. She’s a trooper! She has been working hard filling up more job boxes for new brides. This is why we like appointments over walk-ins.
This time of year we get a mix of wedding invitations and day of items from programs to table numbers, signs and place cards / escort cards. We featured Danielle and Max earlier this week but here is another shot of their custom table numbers. If you haven’t already, you should check out their entire project here.
My work is less showy and not often worth photographing. I am usually glued to my computer ordering supplies or designing something to send off to a client for review. There is lots of that going on too.
We’ll be closing the shop a little early today for the long holiday weekend. We wish everyone a wonderful Memorial Day. We’ll be back Tuesday!
