If you have planned a winter wedding or just live in an area that never quite warms up, there is on reason to fear being cold on your wedding day. Why not add some personality to your look with a sweater? Adding a simple sweater to your wedding gown for photos, traveling to and from the ceremony, reception, etc. can be a great way to look unique and keep you warm.
I realize this may not be for everyone. Some of you may actually hate the idea. It is most likely the single most important dress a woman will ever wear and some may argue that it shouldn’t be covered up with a sweater. Some may say that a sweater or cardigan would be too casual to go with a wedding gown. Other may have other reasons that I haven’t thought of for not liking the idea. That’s fine.
My feeling is that not all sweaters or cardigans go with every wedding dress. Like picking out the right shoes, if you want a sweater, it should be selected to go with your wedding gown and you have to also consider the kind of day you are planning and what photos you plan to take. We love this look for a late fall or winter wedding but if you are planning a more formal day with more formal photos, you may opt for more of a cape.
Even Princess Kate wore a lovely cardigan at her wedding reception.
So, have I sold you? Would you wear a sweater with your wedding dress? I want to know what your thoughts are.
