Your wedding invitations are the first glimpse your guests will have of your special day. They set the tone for your celebration and provide important information about the event. Choosing the perfect wedding invitation can be overwhelming, but with these tips, you can find the perfect invitation that reflects your unique style and vision.

  1. Set a budget:

Before you start looking for invitations, determine your budget. Invitations can range from affordable to extravagant, so knowing your budget will help you narrow down your options.  Look at different stationery companies, their price ranges, what’s included and this will help you figure out what you’ll get for your money and budget.

  2. Determine your wedding theme:

Your wedding invitations should reflect the theme and style of your wedding. Consider your color scheme, venue, and overall aesthetic when selecting your invitations.  If you are having trouble finding something “off-the-shelf”, look for a custom or semi-custom stationer that can help you create exactly what you are envisioning.

  3. Decide on a printing method:

There are several printing methods available, including letterpress, digital printing, and foil stamping. Each method offers a different look and feel, so choose one that complements your style and budget. Digital printing is the most affordable.  Letterpress and foil stamping are more luxury options and thermography falls somewhere in the middle.

  4. Consider the paper type:

The type of paper you choose can impact the overall look and feel of your invitations. Here at Raspberry Creative, our standard paper is 120lb Eggshell in white or Ivory.  We also offer upgrades to a 240lb, double thick paper which is literally twice as thick.

  5. Choose your fonts:

Your font selection can also impact the look and feel of your invitations. Choose fonts that are easy to read and complement your wedding theme.

  6. Determine the size and shape:

Invitations come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Most invitations are a standard 5 x 7 rectangle but here at Raspberry Creative, we also offer a variety of die-cut shapes with our custom and semi-custom clients to really make their invitations special!

  7. Consider the wording:

Your invitation wording should be clear and concise, providing all the necessary information about your wedding.  The wording you choose should also reflect the type of wedding you are having; more formal wording for a church or more formal ceremony.  If you need help figuring out the right wedding invitation wording for your wedding invitations, check out this page.

  8. Add personal touches:

Consider adding personal touches to your invitations, such as custom illustrations or monograms, to make them truly unique.  Think about the elements that tell your unique story and make you different from anyone else.

  9. Don’t forget the details:

Colored Envelopes, envelope liners, RSVP cards, details cards, etc. are all important details that can enhance the overall look of your invitations.  We also offer a variety of embellishments such as vellum jackets, wax seals, pocket folders, belly bands, ribbon and more.  These are the details that really make your invitation look and feel customized just for you!

  10. Order early:

It’s important to order your invitations early to ensure they arrive in time to be mailed out to your guests.  The longer you wait, the less options you’ll have for upgrades and special customizations as many of those things typically take longer in production.
